Good original condition with wear to let in crest. Cover with bent and dented rim corners. Liner with corresponding damage and small spots of corrosion as does warming section which is uneven on its feet.

  George IV Old Sheffield Plate Covered Entree Dish, first quarter 19th century, of rounded rectangular form with turned wooden handles, the domed lid with gadrooned banding and reeded oval ring handle, opening to an entree dish, itself above a hot water reservoir which removes to reveal the billet-frame, engraved on opposing sides of both the lid and base, with the arms and crest of Martin of Lockynge, the arms impaling another, h. 8-3/4", l. 13-1/2", w. 7-3/4".
